I think there's something wrong with me. Lately I've been having trouble sleeping, keep getting these headaches, not migraines. Just headaches, and then I also am getting dizzy. I made a docs appt for next week for general checkup and last week I bought some vitamins in hope that they will help. stupid body.

Hi.
Sep. 14th, 2009 | 08:42 am
So I went skydiving... 2 weeks ago!!! So awesome!! I want to do it again, but do the AFF version instead of tandem the next time. But I have always had trouble breathing while sitting in the back seat with the front seats windows open. And during the tandem I kept having to alternate between covering my mouth with my hands and actually being in the correct falling position. So I shouldn't do AFF unless I can find some method that could partially block the airflow from me and not suffocate me. But AFF would be awesome. I have pics and a video, I just of course misplaced the dvd. Heh. Silly me. And megan went the same day as me, but Scott went the week before. Gordon didn't want to go with us because he didn't want to spend the money, but he wants to go eventually. I was a meanie, and I sent him a sorta will while we were waiting the first time (with scott).
I stayed home from work today because I couldn't sleep, am still sick, and I thought it would be bad if I fell asleep while driving a work truck around DC today. But of course I haven't gone to sleep yet since I got out of bed at 5am. Nice, right?
So Labor day weekend Gordon went down to NC to hang out with his HS buddies. And so him and Will come back with colds they caught from Eddie...Gordon told me I wasn't allowed to kiss him. That lasted until Weds, and now I'm sick. Yay.. While he was away, Steffie came and visited me. She was supposed to come on Fri, but she didn't buy her ticket in time, so she came on Saturday instead. It was a good thing because I ended up working 14 hrs on that friday and didn't get back tot he office until 8:30pm and then still had to go home, shower, and make/eat dinner. I picked her up at the bus stop in Baltimore which was right down the street from a flee market so we went there. And then we went to some thrift stores in Laurel and then to Pub dog. I LOVE THAT PLACE. Microbrewery, and best pizza ever.!! hah...! Mmmm! There's also one in downtown Baltimore, but I've never been to that one. But the one by us,.. AWESOME!! Everyone needs to go.
Ans Sunday we went to the Holocaust Museum in DC and then to some restaurant I didn't really like and can't remember the name of. *shrugs*
And this past weekend I went home to visit Mom. I was going to try to help a lot around the house what with mom going to put the house on the market in the next couple of weeks. But since I was pretty sick at the time, it didn't really work. Mom's friend was visiting though so they went out and about together. I mostly just made sure all the lights on the main floor lite up and helped the 2 of them weed on sunday. And forgot my work boots at the house. :o) But its okay, I have another pair that are just as crappy as the ones I left in nj.
Next month is 2 yrs of dating for Gordon and I, which means pre-congrats to you too Jerm. A little on the crazy side for me at least.
And yesterday I had my 2nd motorcycle ride. My 1st one consisted of going maybe 10 ft with gordon's dad. Which was a little weird for me. But this one was with scott. I've been pestering him with questions about when he was going to bring his bike down since he had bought it. Mostly because he seemed he would be ready for a passenger waay before Gordon, which ended up being true. OMG!!! Fun, a wee bit like skydiving, but not really. I did NOT like going around that circle though. MD and they're stupid love of circles. ARGH! We went the long way around the block/area. Yay. It was cool. I want to learn to ride eventually, but first I want to become comfortable with being a passenger that way I'll hopefully be less scared once I actually start to learn to ride. I can't wait until Gordon gets good enough that I can ride behind him. :oD

Next week is 8 months. I love him. It's crazy. :oD
He fell in love with this 1910 victorian house. it needs a lot of work, but i like it a lot too. Its about halfway inb/w our works, so thats good. Nice size lot. I have no idea if we'll get it. But we really want it. Oh, and 2 friends will also possibly (pretty much definitely) being living with us. Gordon's going to own it, he doesn't want me helping with the down payment. We really, really, really want this place. Yeah, we're supposed to hopefully be looking at the insides of the houses we like this upcoming weekend with the realtor.
Father's Day sucks. I need to make a fathers day/ birthday card. I didn't go home for my birthday last year. Which means I also missed his. His last one. I voted which tombstone I liked better when I went home on the 15th. I miss him. I wish I could control the tears better.
I took gordon to NYC when we went home, because he'd never been. We should've brought bathing suits because it was wayyy too hot to be in the city. but ireally wanted to do something that weekend, and i'd promised betsy we'd go in. we didn't have as much fun, b/c i looked at sightseeing from a girls perspective, and we didn't really see anything. and apparently when you tell someone that you want to show them the city, they think that you know your way around the place. but i don't. which is why i kept asking him what he wanted to see, and he just kept saying lets go where you think is good. how annoying. but we got some cool pics and a really awesome map that cost almost $10. Which my family immediatley leaped upon when I brought it home, and so I no longer have it. We went to ground zero. I haven't been there since '02, parts of it still look the same. I wanted to stay longer, but a certain someone wasn't being very thoughtfull that I might need some personal time. Because even though he didn't die there, I still have a shitload of issues with the place. Like how I won't watch any video footage or hear anything or read any articles about it.
Anyways, I need to take a shower and go to bed.

Sorry, I haven't posted in awhile. Nothing much has been going on. But to recap:
7 months with Gordon!! :op We're trying to buy a house near baltimore. Somewhere inb/w where we all work.
Went to lancaster alot.
Saw the Body Worlds 2 exhibit at the MD Science Center.
Went to Jersey a couple of times.
Fixed my car (new catalytic converter) and its now actually registered and emission tested and everything.
Just need to check on my car insurance.
Went to Michigan because STEFFI GRADUATED!!! Saw both grandmas there, that was such a non-hoot.
I did other stuff too, I just can't remember. *shrugs*

My deck broke

sore
Yeah so the railing of one side of my deck fell off. I think there was about 8 of us that fell, but there was more ppl than that that were leaning on it. Best Part!! I saw the bottom railing come off the post right before I fell, and I only had time to think "Oh SHIT!". Hilarious.
OH!. And felix (sp) fell on top of my head and then rolled off. I broke his fall.. hehe :o) And I really just wanted to lay there because my breath was knocked out of me. But I was all of sudden swooped on by all the guys that had also fallen and they were all pulling me upright. And from Laura's account, they were all saying "Help Samantha." I dunno why. Weirdo's. Well, 'cept for Felix, he was saying " Help me." Which is awesome b/c that supposed to be your 1st instinct. I just really hope that I only landed in the pachysandra and not also in some poison ivy. So basically 5 guys felt that they needed to help me walk back up to the deck. *shrugs* Man, I wish someone had a picture of all of us sprawled out on the ground. That would be the best picture EVER!!!!.
I think I fell about 6'-8' down and then with a guy at least 150 lbs on top of me. EDIT: So...I just walked to where I fell and, its about 5'. So not as bad as I thought, but it felt higher. I landed on my back and hit my head, and someone landed on top of me. SO, I think I should be allowed to think that i fell a longer distance. :o)
But I;m going to go to the fh now, and get someone to check out my jawline because it still hurts from when felix fell on me. I can't believe noone was seriously injured, because we all fell HARD. Later I'll put up a pic of me broken deck.
I just can't believe the railing fell off. And I really don't want to call Landon/Deonne(sp) tomorrow and tell them that the deck broke. Of course, I'm surprised it hasn't fallen apart sooner, because its not very sturdy, and boards keep becoming loose, y etc. Yup, alright, bye.
ps. I'm being evil and leaving ryan the mess to clean up. But I figure its alright because I cleaned up the entire apt before the party, and i did pre/post clean up for the last one. So he kinda owes me.
:o)
pps. Jerm you should've come because we were all pretty much partying hard right up until 3am. Ohyeah, good times.

I could've avoided it all and left at 3pm, since I got back from work at 1pm, but I dunno what to do in philly? I dunno where to go or how to get anywhere. I'm gonna try to actually take some pics this time since for the last 2 dclx's i've gone to, i've taken 1 pic b/w the 2 of them. Awesome, I know.
anyways, i should go now.
ps. i hate how you either have absolutely nothing going on, or everything. why can't ppl spread it out? arg!!

I'm working on it is true. We talk almost every day (thru texting) and hang out on fri's usually with beer. I want more, but i dunno if he's up for that. hmmm.
Last weekend I finally hung out with jerm again (that was overdue). But it was only for a couple of hrs b/c i was falling asleep on him. Sorry... And sat I went up to the psu area for craig's grad party. It was a lot of fun, I got to see ppl that I mostly haven't seen for about a yr or more. And then sun morning I took Arelis out for breakfast since I was in the area and all.
This past work week was really easy, we only mowed 4 of our 25/27 jobs. Rain is needed. We were shearing our major job sites. OH! We got out 1st intern, and guess who gets to train them?!....me. yay. She threw up twice at the end of the 1st day, and she took an insane amt of water breaks, and worked insanely slow for just raking up leaf clippings. The general consensus is: she drank too much water, and didn't sweat it out enough, and isn't used to the heat/working outside. She's getting better, so far shes decent with a backpack blower and is learning how to use a weedeater. At least she's trying... We have her for one more week. I'm also training rafel, he's been with us for about 3 weeks now. He's learning, he just doesn't understand that we need to be constantly working, and to not keep disappearing on me. He's also not very observant, but I've come to realize that most new hispanics aren't. Only the ones that have been here awhile are.
Ryan's dad is here for some college lacrosse games today and tomorrow. So he's staying with us.
Bye.

Sorry about that. But I also disappeared from the fh for almost the whole month also, so don't feel too bad.
John's gf Jess came down to visit again for almost a whole week.
DCLX was here. That was sooo much fun. Plus I got to hang out with a whole bunch of ppl that I hadn't seen in a while: Jermaine, Amy/Carlos, Renee/Joe. And then I met a whole lot of cool ppl.
The weekend after that we just went to BWb's (our local hangout bar).
This past weekend I went contra dancing sat night with a guy from work (same guy i introduced to swing dancing, i took him to the sat night dance at dclx.) And I think i got myself into a friends with benefits thing. I mean I actually like the guy as more than a friend already, so yeah. But I think I can deal, I mean its been over 2 years. Plus I haven't had ANY action since before i moved down here. Horrible reason I realize that, but I'm hopeing he'll grow feelings for me as more than a friend. Also a horrible thought, but hey the whole action thing gives me something interesting to think of during my many hours of weedwacking.
Oh, I found out that 4 girl interns are coming down this summer, which is great b/c then no hispanic guy is going to be hitting on me for once. It will be awesome. Oh, and this whole week we've been a 4 man crew b/c one of ours jumped ship last weekend. YAY. We have 25 jobs, and we managed to do.... 20 of them. But one of the ones we missed b/c the gates were locked b/c the gov't had abondoned the site and we didn't have a key. Tomorrow I have to work b/c we're planting flowers and i have to be there at 5am. what fun....
yeah, gotta go.
stefs coming up tomorrow night for a day and a quarter. and then i'm taking her home to nj sun night (i took monday off.) she's taking a semester long course in a week down in dc, so she has all her semester ending crap with her, so yeah. oh tomorrow's cinco de mayo, so that should be fun once work is over.
bye.

SO all of march we've been mulching, and thats about it. I think we're almost done, well we have to be because we start mowing next week.
I've actually been pretty busy this month. Went up to psu visited megan, arelis and craig. We had the fh breakfast dedicated ryan conley and gave all the profits given to his family. One of my psu friends slept over on a tues night on his way from nc to philly. the funny part is i didn't see him until i woke up weds morning. i think he got here around 12pm or so, but i was already asleep by then. but now i have a place to stay in nc, if i ever feel the urge to head down that way.
And then that fri the 16th i was supposed to have a date but the guy lives at the bottom of an unsalted hill, and he couldn't make it out of his driveway. But I'm glad it was canceled because I needed some sleep before we went and salted the sidewalks. Oooh, and guess how I spent my entire freaking day on fri?Q!!! I was helping out a friend. We took a nice lovely drive to va, where he bought a car that cost too much and he isn't too happy with. But he really wanted to go b/c the dealership had latino saleman and wouldn't ask for your ssn. We got there fine, but apparently angel can't reverse english directions so we got lost in dc for 2-3 hrs. Then we hit rush hr traffic on the way home, but we had to stop off north of us at his boss' so that he could help him get ready for the snow. Fri was a loong day.
Sat was st. patty's day. We all got up pretty late from doing snow. I was really stupid and forgot to eat more than one meal (you can all probly tell where that went, can't you?) well, we had wanted to go into baltimore but noone wanted to drive so alaine rented a limo. those cleaning costs are huge. ehh. i had fun at our apt. so it was cool. man i was still drunk the next morning at 6am.
I didn't get certified for cpr/aed during my emt class b/c my teacher wasn't able to get enough other intstructors to make it count. so the 20th i took a cpr/aed recert class that is technically supposed to be 5 hrs, but we did it in 2. and it was free for me. :o)
last weekend i went home to nj, and went up to lehigh and saw the last quarter of brookes game. it was nice, see:
we were in her dorm bldg. isn't she a cutie!!
so this weekend, i had that rescheduled date in ellicott city. I was trying my hardest to keep the convo going, but the boy kept only saying 3-5 word replies. c'mon now. he wasn't holding up his end of the convo. plus i was insanely tired from work. eh, but it was nice to go on a date and he wasn't creepy like the last date i went on. and then last night i went swing dancing with the guy i do snow with. and next weekend he's supposed to take me contra dancing. you know, the old english/square dancing type of it. :o) yay....
oh and i've decided that i'm going to start making 1 dessert each weekend, so i can build up a repatoire. i made a maple-pumpkin cheesecake with caramel sauce dripped on it. here's what it looks like, and it doesn't taste that bad either. :o)

anyways, laundry folding up next.
ps. i dunno if i mentioned this but i'm trying to switch to irrigation, and they have a spot open for me. But i can't switch until i start driving and until maintenance has an AMERICAN replacement for me. Hard to find, i know. But I was so hoping to switch before mowing season started.

My weekend + thoughts

Alright, so I found out how I did on my EMT State exams. I passed the written (THANK GOD). 83/100. Wow that was a lot of weight on my chest. One less thing to worry about. :o)
Sat morning I had my EMT practicals. Which consists of 5 exams: spinal immobilization, random trauma skill, cpr/resusitation, vital signs, and medical assessment. We, my partner and I, definately passes the 1st 2 and the vital signs. There was a mess up on the cpr/resus I was really stupid and forgot the bsi/scene safety bit. Wow, what a fuck up. And then I missed a couple other things. But the mess up was that the lady but other ppl's scores on our sheet. And when she changed it, she still left that I have to redo BVM. But I'm not sure about it. All the other ones she took off she completely scribbled over the x'ed boxes. But not BVM. But I wasn't even the team leader for that one, and the little I did do, I didn't mess up on. So I don't see why I have to redo it. But I know for sure that I have to epi-pen. I forgot that the black end covers the needle, for some reason I thought that you pushed it in. So I basically theoretically ended up sticking myself. Plus I hardly did any of the medical bit in order. So I'm acutally glad that I have to redo it, b/c it gives mme the chance to prove to myself that I can do it. Properly.
Only one person in my class passed. (my partner). That does mean that none of us studied enough, but that also points a finger at my teacher. And he doesn't seem to understand that. I'll probly/definately pass during the retest. But if I didn't, I'd take this class in Howard Co, so that there wouldn't even be a slight chance that I'd get my current teacher.
One of the really annoying bits is that we have to be re-trained before we can be re-tested. But the training center we had class in is booked solid for the whole next 2 weeks. So, unless he can schedule something at Gamber's fh, we're not going to be able to retest for probly at least another 3 weeks or so.
After the practical some of the ppl in my class and I went to BWB's (Bbq Wings and Beer)in Mt. Airy. (Thats the bar I tend to go to.) And the one bartender actually refused my id, and knew my drink. Pretty cool. And later on I headed over to jerms, and had some drinks with him before heading over his grad school friends' place for a kegger. I actually got to meet about half of his SPA group and put some faces with the names. And I was impressed, because I didn't hear politics mentioned once. :o) It was nice, I got drunk talking to ppl not from work or the fh. :o)
Yesterday morning, I woke up drunk (I only got about 3hrs of sleep, or so)and headed over to the fh for our fundraiser breakfast. I think we only broke about 400 ppl. This was mostly because they didn't have the sign up about the breakfast until at least after 6:30pm sat. At least that's my opinion about it. I was at the fh from about..7:30am-1:30pm/2pm. And then I left and came back here, and just chilled. Oh, and wayne says that I can still ride, just not as a fully, functioning emt. I'll just still need to be supervised. But the supervision would probly have needed to occurr anyways. Plus, we always have a part-time paramedic on staff, so supervision is not that hard to come by.
Today I got the day off because all the supervisors were supposed to have had more meetings. But ryan got the day off also for "snow reasons". Yeah right, its supposed to get up to 40 degrees out. Plus snow is supposed to occurr tonight and into tomorrow. The highest I've overheard is 5", but I very much doubt that. I'm thinking of applying for a part-time job, but i don't have set hours. So I dunno if it would actually work.

I like: snowblowers
I don't like: sidewalks that aren't even and flat.
We got called out this morning, I really didn't expect it. Luckliy ryan heard the phone call, because I definately didn't. I need to start sleeping with my door open, which I don't like because that will let all the warm air out. And because even though the mice can get in my room underneath the door, I still feel better with the door shut. I dunno, my brain works in mysterious ways.
